Every year, the Fab City Summit brings the global network together — cities, regions, makers, researchers and partners building locally productive futures. We gather to connect, foster collaborations and showcase research. A space to share what's working and prototype what comes next on the road to 2054.
Held during FAB26 in Boston, this Summit marked the Fab Lab network's return to where digital fabrication began 25 years ago. Five new cities and territories signed the Pledge at MIT, and the launch of Fab City Science connected the network to the research shaping how cities produce, measure, and sustain themselves.

For a distributed movement like Fab City, the Summit is a yearly opportunity to bring the global community together. It allows us to reflect on the year and set a collective agenda towards locally productive, globally connected initiatives. The Summit also marks the annual pledge of new cities, regions and other territories joining the Fab City Network, committing to producing almost everything they consume by 2054.
