Fab City Summit 2017

Hosted in Copenhagen, the 2017 Summit shifted focus from vision to implementation, centering on data sovereignty and local manufacturing as drivers of urban resilience. Cities explored how digital infrastructure, fabrication capacity, and governance models could align to shape more autonomous urban futures. Membership expanded steadily, strengthening European collaboration and solidifying Fab City as a credible urban transition framework. The summit reinforced the shift from industrial Product-In, Trash-Out models toward data-driven, locally productive systems. Copenhagen clarified that Fab City was not only about making things locally, but about reclaiming control over urban data and production.
