mAkE connects African and European innovation hubs to strengthen distributed manufacturing ecosystems. It positions makerspaces and Digital Innovation Hubs as strategic infrastructure for local production, skills development, and economic resilience. This directly reinforces Fab City’s commitment to global knowledge exchange anchored in local capacity.
mAkE expands the geographic and political reach of Fab City. It builds bridges between continents, shifting collaboration from symbolic exchange to structured capacity building. Hubs involved in the project strengthen governance, improve operational models, and engage more effectively with regional development agendas. The project reinforces Fab City’s cosmolocal logic. Knowledge circulates globally while production capacity grows locally. By strengthening hubs in Africa and Europe simultaneously, mAkE contributes to a more balanced and distributed innovation ecosystem within the broader network.
mAkE produces ecosystem assessments, training programs, governance handbooks, policy recommendations, and strategic roadmaps for hub networks. These outputs remain practical references for Fab City regions developing distributed manufacturing strategies linked to inclusive growth.
