The Urban White Mini-Farms Project, developed for the Master in Design for Distributed Innovation, aims to create zero-emission urban micro-farms in Thessaloniki, Greece. These mini-farms would serve as local food as well as raw material 'generators.' The primary objective is to enable production and residential areas to coexist in cities, thereby fostering new, circular ecosystems. This goal is achieved through two main interventions: the installation of vertical farming pillars and the implementation of a new system of decentralized, collaborative production management among local communities.
