The Re-Bicycle project, developed for the Master in Design for Distributed Innovation, addresses the waste and pollution from massive disposal of broken shared bikes. The core intervention is a circular, distributed economy strategy to systematically dismantle, repair, and repurpose them. This transforms the bikes into a resource stream: either repaired for a second-hand market or fully recycled. The goal is a sustainable local ecosystem that reduces waste and establishes a replicable model for asset recovery in distributed mobility.
