The Fab City Hub Resource Flow Mapping Tool is a participatory methodology designed to help local hubs identify, visualize, and analyze the material, energy, knowledge, and economic flows within their territory. Through structured workshops and collaborative mapping exercises, it enables stakeholders to understand current dependencies, gaps, and opportunities for relocalizing production and closing resource loops. Within the Fab City framework, this tool operationalizes the transition from importing products and exporting waste toward systems where data, knowledge, and design circulate globally while materials circulate locally. It supports hubs in grounding the 2054 vision in concrete territorial insights, turning abstract circularity goals into place-based strategies and actionable interventions.
