The Open Call is Live!
We’re delighted to announce that the open call for the Fab City Awards: Empowering Citizens for Urban Regeneration is now open. We invite you to submit your project for the chance to present your project at FAB25. The deadline for submissions is May 2nd 2025.

About the Fab City Awards
This open call welcomes applications from projects that engage with community-driven climate action, sustainable technology, circular innovation, regenerative ecosystems and biodiversity.
We are looking for projects from individuals or communities, Fab Labs, makerspaces, educational institutions, industry, nonprofits and governments.

Submission Categories
This year projects must fall under under all 3 categories:
🤝 Community-Driven Climate Action
♻️ Sustainable Technology & Circular Innovation
🐝 Regenerative Ecosystems & Biodiversity.
Make sure that your project speaks to all of these themes when you apply.


Community-Driven Climate Action
Projects emphasising participatory governance, citizen science and creative interventions for climate resilience.

Sustainable Tech & Circular Innovation
Projects leveraging technology to promote circular economy practices, eco-design and regenerative materials.

Regenerative Ecosystems & Biodiversity
Solutions restoring and enhancing ecosystems, strengthening biodiversity and fostering community stewardship.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible your project must meet the following conditions:- Projects must be piloted or in active implementation
- Projects must fit within all of the award sub-categories
- Initiatives must have been created or updated in 2020 or later
- Projects must adhere to ethical and legal standards and have a positive societal and environmental impact
- Projects from individuals, organizations, and collaborative teams can submit up to three entries

Prizes and Recognition
This year, the award winners will have a chance to travel to FAB25 and present their projects to a global audience. The winning projects will be awarded a travel fund of up to €1500 to attend the FAB25.
The winners of the awards will be invited to present their project at FAB25, with funding provided for a project representative to travel to the event in Czechia. These projects will also be featured across the DDP and Fab City Foundation platforms to help reach a global impact.
